HOW WE HIRE

The hiring process is a great way to get to know you and for you to know Kootenai Health. We aim to learn more about your experience, skills, goals, and needs and are excited to share details about the role, our organization, and the opportunities you have on our team. We hire for both skill and cultural fit and strive to be as transparent as possible to ensure candidates make confident, well-informed career decisions.

Apply Online

  • Create an account online
  • Review openings that best match your career pathway, experience, and education. You can filter, save, review, and apply for job openings. Still deciding which path is available/would be best for you? Contact us at careers@kh.org to discuss options with a Talent Acquisition Consultant.
  • You can upload a resume to parse upon beginning your application. This step is optional.
  • Complete the step-by-step application process to submit your application for each position you are interested in. Applications take an average of five to 15 minutes to complete.
  • Upon completion of the application, you will receive an email confirmation that your application has been received.
  • Not ready to apply? We encourage you to join our talent community and share your information with us so we can contact you when we have opportunities that are aligned with your interests.
  • If your initial application was not through the Kootenai Health Careers website (example: Indeed), you will need to formally apply to a position prior to an offer.

New Application Review and Prescreen

  • A member of the Talent Acquisition team will review your application. If there is a match between your credentials and the position you have applied for, a talent team member will contact you by telephone or email to discuss the position or initiate a SparkHire video interview.
  • Applicants who meet position qualifications, have the required experience, and are a position fit may advance to the hiring leader interview. If not a match for the position, applicants will receive additional information about position needs and can review other possibilities with a talent team member.
  • To learn the status of your application, you can log into your account. Your dashboard will display all the positions you’ve applied for and the status of each application.
  • You will receive an email notifying you if we have continued our search or the position has been filled. We encourage you to continue exploring Kootenai Health opportunities, or you can join our talent community and share your information with us so we can contact you when we have opportunities that are aligned with your interests.

Department Interview

  • When selected for an interview, you will be contacted by a talent team member to schedule a face-to-face or virtual interview with the hiring manager.
  • Some positions may also hold a peer team or panel-style interview.
  • To learn the status of your application, you can log in to your account. Your dashboard will display all the positions you’ve applied for and the status of each application.
  • You will receive an email notifying you if we have continued our search or if the position has been filled. Offer Presentation and Acceptance

  • If you are selected as the final candidate after the interview process, a member of the talent team will contact you by phone to extend a verbal offer of employment. All offers are contingent upon a pre-employment background check and health screen and meeting specific position requirements, such as providing licensure and certification information.
  • Kootenai Health requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved exception. This requirement applies to all employees, including those who work in non-clinical settings or remotely. Kootenai Health has an exemption process for both medical and religious exemptions. An exception process can be initiated by emailing careers@kh.org and requesting the required documentation.

Onboarding and Orientation

  • When accepting your offer, you will be scheduled to complete a pre-employment appointment and attend Kootenai Health Essentials (new-hire orientation), which takes place on your first day of employment.
